Fortnite maps have always been a stand-out feature of the game and Epic has taken a different route than most other battle royale games. Instead of giving players different maps at once, the developers bring a brand new map for every Chapter. With Fortnite Chapter 3 on the horizon, players are on the lookout for a new map to play on.
After four seasons in theFortnite Chapter 2 map, we might be heading back to the Chapter 1 map. Even though the second chapter brought with it an updated appearance, new mechanics, and new loot, fans still miss the original Athena map. They've been demanding its return ever since, and some subtle teases suggest that may just be the case. Although we don't have confirmation from what's been revealed so far on the uncover the Island map, we know from leaks that the island from Loot Lake will return. We're not sure if it'll be as it was in chapter 1, but I'm sure there'll be some happy players.

Is Greasy Grove Coming Back to FortniteThe popular chapter 1 location was an original location since the launch of the Battle Royale game mode. The POI was removed in chapter 1 season 7 when a pool of ice covered it and made a short return near the middle of season 10. However, it didn't return in chapter 2 like most of the player base wanted.
Fortnite players around the world are waiting for the game to be playable again. Since the conclusion of chapter 2, we've been stuck staring at Jonesy in the water slowly floating his way to the new island which was under the chapter 2 map the entire time. The alien mothership also holds vaulted POIs straight out of Chapter 1. So if Epic's going to bring the season 1 map back, now is probably the time to do it. Ever since it was revealed through court documents that Fortnite had been planning a Naruto collab, players have been anticipating his release.
Now, it seems that Fortnite is going to release the long-awaited Naruto skins in less than a month. Now that it's finally coming back, it'll be interesting to see how many changes have been made if any and how many players will land there regularly. Either way, we're happy to see Greasy make a return after more than two years. In the leak of all the POI's on the new map, the name that stood out to most was Greasy Grove. Players have been waiting for the return for Greasy Grove since the start of chapter 2.
Can You Still Play Fortnite Chapter 1 Now only has the leaked confirmed Greasy Grove coming back, but the new section of the map that's been uncovered through Fortnite Flipped confirms it. We already covered the news that both Shifty Shafts and Wailing Woods are making a return but we have more news regarding chapter 1 map locations making a return. Both Greasy Grove and the Loot Lake Island are coming back in the new chapter.
Greasy Grove Coming Back to FortniteHowever, the starter pack for the new season has been leaked and now we have all of the names of locations and POI's on the new map. We've also seen a large chunk of the new map which Epic have slowly been revealing through the Fortnite Flipped campaign. We're not sure how true the first part is, but it seems most players are happy the new season launches on a weekend.
During downtime, players can use Fortnite Flipped to uncover the new island. The demands to bring back the original Chapter 1 island majorly started after Fortnite witnessed a significant downfall in its user base in Chapter 2. There's no point denying the fact that Chapter 1 was highly entertaining, and from the looks of it, fans around the world now look forward to cherishing their old memories.
Twitch streamer SypherPK has also talked about the same frequently. The user believes that such a move would facilitate the return of millions of players and even content creators. It won't be an exaggeration to say that Fortnite was the biggest game in the world at its peak. In fact, several prominent content creators like Ninja, Tfue, and LazarBeam played it at the beginning of Chapter 2. Ever since, Epic Games' battle royale has been struggling to maintain its large user base.
The in-game island itself has gone through a ton of changes too, and OG players have been pining for the days of the original map layout. And the first few seasons are themed around rebuilding and that. This is the first season of the third chapter which started after Chapter 2 Season 8. While most players refer to this season as "Season 1", it's technically Season 19.
Obviously, take this information with a grain of salt for the time being as it is purely a theory for now. The Fortnite community has been asking for the original map to make its return for quite some time. Perhaps it could finally be on the horizon as the next Season draws near. A simple drawing of a wormhole could indicate that Tony Stark is upgrading the Battle Bus in order to travel through one in the near future. This could mean that we transport back to the original map at the end of this season. Though it could also hint that both maps will be playable in Season 5 thanks to a Battle Bus that can travel through at any point in time.
At the end of Season X in October, 2019, Epic Games completely reset the state of Fortnite. Chapter 2 kicked off with updated visuals, tons of new mechanics, fresh loot, and of course, a new map. The map that players grew to love – codenamed 'Athena' – was left in the past. That's probably disappointing to many players, but progress is good. The old map was good, but that doesn't mean this new map or any subsequent maps can't be good too. As much as players would like it, Fortnite is constantly moving forward.
The teases and references, especially those from last season, are fun, but Epic Games is probably not interested in moving the game backwards. The map is heavily linked to the storyline, so going back to old maps would undo some of the excellent storytelling they've done thus far. Bringing an old map to Fortnite Chapter 3 might work in favor of some veteran players, which can lead to game balancing issues. The new map will serve as an evenhanded field as every player is foreign to all the locations and drop points. Keri has been a part of the video games industry as a writer and editor since 2004. Her video game backstory is long, convoluted, and better left unheard.
When she's not playing or writing about video games, she's reading Warhammer 40k novels, teaching yoga, and making sure her kids don't burn down the house. Here are the patch notes for the new Fortnite update that released today, January 20, 2022. According to data-miners, Fortnite chapter 3 season 1 was expected to launch of Tuesday, 7th December which would have meant three days of downtime. However, with the Fortnite Poland YouTube channel accidentally posting the Battle Pass trailer a few days early, Epic decided to release the season tomorrow. In contrast to that, Fortnite now comprises some of the most skilled Esports athletes in the world. Even casual players have drastically improved their skills, and as a result, the game is more sweaty than ever.
It is unlikely that these conditions would change even with the return of the old map. Over the three years of its release, Fortnite has gone through a plethora of changes. With every update, the developers aim to freshen the meta, and keep the game entertaining for the millions of active players. So where's the "proof" for this rumored re-introduction of the season 1 map?
Well, whip out the tin foil and put your hat-making skills to work. If you recall, it was revealed during an unvaulting event that the Season 1 map had a huge metal mainframe at its center. Folks have noticed that the alien mothership hovering over the island actually looks strikingly similar to this mainframe surrounding the Season 1 map. In fact, Epic Games has crafted a "new" weapon that is seemingly the original pistol but with worse stats.
The new Combat Pistol is now in Fortnite, but players aren't happy with its arrival. He also claims that Naruto will come with a Hidden Leaf Village Creative Hub. The skins and hub are planned to release on November 16th at 2 PM UTC/ 9 AM ET. We have also seen various Naruto assets leaked by HYPEX.
While Epic Games hasn't posted the skins, we now know which Naruto characters are coming to Fortnite and what they look like. Promo images have been leaked showing all four characters in the collab. In order to maximize performance, you need to optimize every setting. If you're looking to take your game to the next level, then you need to make sure you have the best controller settings for Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1. While this would be a nice sentiment on paper, there's a surprising amount of evidence to back the theory.
The workshop at the Stark Industries POI currently has upgrades being applied to the Battle Bus. However, a whiteboard in the background could be pointing towards this wormhole theory. Also, old maps have been with us for a long time and most players simply want something new.
Playing the same map over and over again can lead to stagnation in player interest. One of the main reasons an old Fortnite map might not be good is that it's old. While older maps are genuinely great, players can re-create them using Fortnite Creative, so bringing them back into the Battle Royale mode will serve no good purpose. If you've been playing Season 4 ofFortniteChapter 2, then you know that Iron Man has been upgrading the Battle Bus. A new theory suggests that these upgrades all point to the beloved Athena map from Chapter 1.
At this point in time, Fortnite for all players merely shows your own player character of choice drifting alone in the ocean. This means that every aspect of Fortnite, including Save the World, is unable to be played at this moment. As soon as we have more information on the next Chapter of Fortnite, we'll let you know here on ComicBook.com. We know what the new map looks like as it was revealed from the Battle Pass trailer that leaked.
We're still waiting for Epic Games to announce when Fortnite chapter 3 season 1 will be releasing. We don't have anything official, but both PlayStation and Xbox support have stated that it'll start tomorrow, Sunday December 5th at 10 AM ET. The previously leaked Vi Fortnite skin from the League of Legends Arcane animated series will be in today's item... Wailing Woods Return in FortniteThere's a good chance we could see other locations from the old chapter 1 map returning for the new chapter ahead. It seems like every old POI has some changes made to it to keep it fresh, especially for those that might not have liked those POI's back in chapter 1. Although not official, popular data-miner Hyper seems to have spotted something from the uncover the island reveal.
In the Snow Biome, it looks like Shifty Shafts from Chapter 1 will be coming back on the chapter 3 map. The more percentage that gets completed, the more the new map is revealed. You can track the progress along with how much of the map has been revealed on the official flip the island website. Some eagle-eyed Fortnite fans have stated the Shifty Shafts and Wailing Woods chapter 1 locations will be coming back chapter 3. It is worth noting that Fortnite rose to prominence because of its unique meta. Back in the day, even the best players in the community couldn't box fight, build, edit and take gun fights simultaneously.
POIs are another bit of "evidence" 'Fortnite' fans are pointing to for the Season 1 map's return. Epic Games' cash cow has undergone a tremendous number of changes ever since it debuted back in 2017. From new weapons, game modes, rules, the introduction of vehicles, in-game concerts, cross-over events, movie release information ... Chapter 1 was the first chapter of Fortnite and had a massive story, and over the course of the Chapter, new cosmetics, vehicles and locations were added.
Chapter 1 consisted of 10 whole seasons with lots of new things added as well as many things getting removed. However, players do seem to like the sound the Combat Pistol makes. For all of its shortcomings, at least it sounds good when you shoot it. That being said, I'm sure players will continue to drop their pistols for Grey SMGs, and many players may never get around to shooting it.
The new Combat Pistol in Fortnite Season 8 is a slight downgrade from the original pistol, and players aren't happy about it. As of right now, that's all we know about the Naruto x Fortnite collab. If what HYPEX says is true, the Naruto skin will be in Fortnite very soon. And when that happens, we will update this story with the price, release date, and Mythic Weapon info. The Naruto skins have officially been added to Fortnite, and here is how much players will have to spend to buy each one.
And that's everything you need to change to have the best Fortnite controller settings. They will take some getting used to at first, but the increased sensitivity will definitely improve your reaction time. This also means that Chapter 3 Season 1 is going to be a long one. Fortnite Chapter 2 ended with The Island flipping over revealing an entirely new map. This marked the start of Fortnite Chapter 3 which also took players back to Season 1. Image via Epic GamesThe old Fortnite map as a whole is never returning.
The landing options will never again be fully comprised of Chapter 1 POIs, or even any combination of any season from Chapter 1. With a new season arriving in Fortnite, there is always speculation about how the map will change. With all the leaks, teases and rumors from Chapter 2 Season 7, Chapter 2 Season 8 was poised to have some really big map changes. Ultimately, those never came to fruition, as the new map is only slightly different than the old one. That shifts the focus to the end of this season, or even further than that, for a new map.
With that said, it's certain that Fortnite Chapter 3 will bring a brand new map based on the repercussions of the Season 8 live event. Each map is inspired by the older maps and sometimes even features random old POIs and NPCs. However, bringing back the old Fortnite map in Chapter 3 Season 1 might be a bad idea. Greasy Grove is coming back to Fortnite in chapter three season one. Here's all the spawn locations where you can find Klombo in Fortnite chapter 3 season 1. Players have compared Wailing Woods from chapter 1 to the current outline on the new map which all but confirms the return of Wailing Woods.
Here's a look at Wailing Woods from chapter 1 compared to the new location. Having said that, re-releasing the original map is not as simple as it sounds. It would require a lot of additional effort, time, and even capital. Furthermore, this would imply that the developers will have to reduce the time they're devoting to improve the Chapter 2 Season 5 meta.
